handwritten, Adjutant General's Office, December 20, 1934. ( The clemency review file of Nathan Humphries, Sr., formerly a cook in the 24th Infantry,
who was convicted of disobeying orders, mutiny, murder, and assault with intent to commit murder in connection with the race riots of the 24th infantry
on August 23, 1917 in Houston, Texas. Documents include a Memorandum for the Judge Advocate General, a clemency memorandum dated December 10, 1917,
Report of the Clemency Board dated April 12, 1924, and a communication to the Judge Adjutant General from a Colonel in the Judge Advocate General's
Office. The portion of his sentence not yet served was remitted.)
