August 21, 1931. ( The clemency review file of Abner Davis, formerly a Private in the 24th Infantry, who was found guilty of disobeying orders,
mutiny, murder and felonious assault in connection with his actions during the race riots in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1917. Documents include a memo to
the Adjutant General from the Acting Judge Advocate General summarizing the case and a Report of the Clemency Board dated April 9, 1924 recommending
that as much of his sentence exceeding 23 years and three months be remitted.)
