Letter to the Right Honourable the President of the India Board, on the new plan of qualifying candidates for the East-India civil service: by
Sandford Arnot, 20p., London, Parbury, Allen, and Co., 1834. (A letter by Sanford Arnot of the London Oriental Institution to the Board of Commissioners for
the Affairs of India. In his letter he proposes that the act presently before Parliament for nominating four candidates for each civil service
vacancy should include a requirement that candidates for positions in India should have training in oriental languages.)
