Description and Holding Information
1944, Laws of Barbados (5 v.)
Revised and consolidated by C.V.H. Archer & W.K. Fergusson, Barristers, under the supervision of the Commissioners, Sir Allan Collymore, Chief
Justice, and E. Keith Walcott, Attorney General: Vol. 1–5 + index vol., Barbados, Advocate Co., GovPr, 1944. (This revision was authorized by Barbados Act
No. 22 of 1935, which envisioned a revision taken to the end of 1940. The work encountered unexpected delays, and it was subsequently decided to take
the revision to the end of 1942. However, that decision was taken after Vol. 1 was printed already and its type metal taken down and used for other
purposes. Consequently, Vol. 1 only covers through 1940. Reference should be made to the first page of a preface inserted later into Vol. 1 for details
of those Acts of 1942 and 1943 which were not accounted for, as they should have been, in that volume. The “Historical note ...” mentioned in the
listing above for the 1912 revision is reprinted in Vol. 1 of this revision. In 1944 the Commissioners for this revision issued a separate pamphlet,
vi-202+iii pp., same publ., printing the session laws for 1943 and 1944. Following the practice of many libraries, LLMC has grouped that pamphlet with the
Barbados session law run and filmed it in its chronological location in that series.] Vol. 1–5\r\n
