1855, Laws of Barbados
Barbados Compiled Laws, 1854: by authority, xvi+619p, 8vo, London, W. Clowes & Sons, 1855. (“The well-known edition of 1855 was the outcome of a
joint address of the Houses. By an Act of 12th April 1854—the schedule of which is to be found in the supplementary volume of 1863—a large number of Acts
were repealed; and in May 1854 George Nelson Taylor {then a member of Council} and Charles Packer, the Solicitor General, were appointed to bring out
a new edition, for a remuneration of three hundred pounds ... When stamped with the seal of the Island {the work} was to be the only lawful statute
book with regard to the laws inserted therein.” — Pref. 1912 revision, see below, at p. viii.)
