1970, Anguilla Commission Rpt.
Appointed by the governments of the United Kingdom and St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla to examine the Anguilla problem,: 131p, Cmnd 4510, London,
HMSO, 1970. (On 27 Feb. 1967, the former colony of St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla became a state associated with the UK. The move was not popular in
Anguilla, and on 30 May 1967 a party of Anguillans ejected the police from their island and declared that they were severing connections with the larger
state. Negotiations being unsuccessful, early in 1969 the Anguillans declared themselves wholly independent. On 19 Mar. 1969 British paratroopers and
police landed on Anguilla and installed a British administrator. On 21 May 1969, the British Government appointed a commission chaired by Sir Hugh
Wooding to investigate and make recommendations for solving the Anguilla Problem.)
