1957, Revised Ordinances
Revised Ordinances of St. Lucia was published in 1959 by The Voice Publishing Company, appointed by the Government of the Colony of St. Lucia the
Government Printer of this edition .... A major law reform was undertaken to assimilate local law with the laws of England for contracts, torts, agency,
trust, and guardianship. The ordinance to authorize this effort is at p. xxiii-xxxiv. The Ordinances consisted of seven volumes, with the Civil Code,
Criminal Code, Code of Civil Procedure, and Commercial Code included as chapters. There were thirty-six titles in five volumes, with the sixth
volume as an index to all. This volume also contained ancient French laws applicable to St. Lucia, Imperial Orders, Letters Patent, and Royal
Instructions. Rules and Regulations were published in volume seven.
