by the Closer Union Society of Cape Town intended to further a greater unity among the South African provinces. It’s sister work, is offered on this
site as “Br.Emp.S, Union, Framework of, Long.” The purpose of that work was to provide such exemplary data from other federal countries as might be of
utility in a South Africa, which was itself considering a federal union. The present work concentrates on describing the South African governmental
system as it existed in 1908, and how it might be changed by closer union.)
