1841-49, New Zealand Ordinances
|
|
The Ordinances of New Zealand passed in the first ten sessions of the General Legislative Council, A.D. 1841 to A.D. 1849; To which are prefixed the acts of Parliament, charters & royal instructions: published by authority, var. pagination, Wellington, printed by the colonial government, 1850. (From 1841 through 1853, during the period covered by this reprint, legislation in New Zealand was enacted by appointive Executive and Legislative Councils. The ordering of the materials presented here, and the resultant pagination, are quite confusing. Readers are advised to first consult the Table of Contents, pp. xiv to xix. From the introductory “Memorandum,” it appears that this compilation was by Alfred Domett, Colonial Secretary. Contains also, at the appropriate places in the subject order, the acts of the short-lived Province of New Ulster.)
