native Irish law which was generally operational in Gaelic areas until the completion of the English conquest of Ireland in the early 17th century. The
laws were a civil rather than a criminal code concerned with the payment of compensation for harm done, regulation of property, inheritance and
contracts. The history of the laws begins on p.1 and contains a bibliography of books of Irish law published by John Lynch, Archdeacon of Tuam. There is no
table of contents or index.)
