(A TOC follows p. 141. Lacks index. Sir Robert Holborne was an English lawyer and politician who sat in Parliament in the years 1640-1642. A royalist,
he was co-counsel in the famous Ship Money Case occasioned by the effort of Charles I after 1634 to levy ship money during peacetime and to extend
the levy to the inland counties of England without the approval of Parliament. This was one of the main causes leading to the English Civil War and the
eventual execution of Charles. The copy of this work used for scanning was one reprinted in exact imaging format by ProQuest, EEBO Editions.)
