Reasons against a registry for lands, 1678
|
|
Reasons against a registry for lands, &c. shewing briefly, the great disadvantages, charges and inconveniences that may accrue to the whole nation in general thereby much over-ballancing the particular advantages that are imagined to arise therefrom: in answer to a late book entituled, Reasons for a registry: with some reasons for a registry of personal contracts humbly offered to consideration: by anonymous, 2+22p., London, Printed for C. Wilkinson and T. Burrel, 1678. (An argument against a registry of land titles. The author counters the argument presented in LLMC 57221 in favor of a registry. He feels the registry would not advance trade as argued by the proponents, but actually harm trade. Lands are selling well and there is no need for a registry. There is no table of contents or index.)
