A treatise entitled "A Discourse on the Bookland and Folkland of the Saxons: wherein the nature of these kinds of estates is explained, and the
notion of them advanced by Sir John Dalrymple in his essay on Feudal Property, examined and confuted. This opposing opinion was published in Cambridge in
1775 by an unnamed author. In addition to a preface (called an advertisement), there were summary notes in the margins, generally as references to
various source materials.
