(Chs. I-VIII) and II (Chs. IX-XVIII, 1760-1860; Vol. III, 1860-1911. The organization of chapters is largely by topic or theme (such as the House of
Commons; relations of Parliament to the Crown, the Law and the people; Party; the Press, and Liberty of Opinion; the Church and Religious Liberty;
Local Government; and British Colonies and Dependencies). Each volume includes detailed table of contents for that volume. Vol. II contains index for
first two volumes. Vol. III includes separate preface and index.
