collection of thirteen arbitration decisions by Lord Westbury involving the European Assurance Society. When the “European” crashed in 1872 it was ordered
by Parliament to wind-up. Lord Westbury was appointed as the first arbitrator to settle the numerous claims against the Society. These decisions are
the cases Lord Westbury heard during 1872 when he served as arbitrator. A table of cases is located at the beginning of the volume. The European
Arbitration Act, 1872 is included in the appendix on p.i-xii. Only part 1 was ever published.)
