California records and briefs, all appellate courts, late 19th century to date, title continues, scanned from the collection of the Los Angeles
County Library in a partnership between the Library and LLMC. (The scanning of these materials began in 2009. The portion offered on-line will include all
post-2009 materials as they are received from the courts. Simultaneously, a retrospective scanning project is in process. The retrospective scanning
is proceeding in reverse chronological order. Check the site for notice as to the most recent materials added. Because of the complicated nature of
these materials, LLMC and its partner NBS have devised a separate, dedicated interface for patrons navigating this data. Clicking on the title will take
you to that dedicated interface. An important element of the search process will be an understanding of the various docket number systems used to
control these materials as the appellate court system in California evolved over the years. To aid in that understanding, listed below are samples of the
26 separate numbering systems employed in different historical time frames. To use the docket-number-search feature provided on the California Records
and Briefs dedicated interface, the pattern of the docket number entered must match one of the samples provided below. Supreme Court, late 19th Cent.
