1855-57, Patton & Heath's Rpts.
Virginia Reports of cases decided in the Special Court of Appeals of Virginia, held at Richmond; and a general index to Grattan's Reports, from the
2nd to the 11th volume inclusive: by John M. Patton, Jr. and Roscoe B. Heath, Vol. 1–2, Richmond. Geo. M. West, 1856–57. (Title varies. The Special
Court of Appeals of Virginia was a strictly temporary court set up to aid the Virginia Supreme Court dispose of an eight-year backlog of undecided
cases. The nature of the court and the constitutional limitations upon its jurisdiction are described in the preface to Vol. 1. The index to Grattan's
Reports {1945–55} referred to in the title to V. 1 has its own title page and separate pagination, perhaps indicating that it was also sold separately.)
