Commons. Bill on real estate assets, 1844
December 9, 1844 bill in the North Carolina House of Commons to provide for a procedure for an administrator or executor to sell real estate, should
chattels and goods be insufficient to cover all debts. This process required that a license be obtained in State Superior Court, and specific steps
taken to ensure the procedure. However, the right of dower could not be affected by implementation of this bill. See LLMC #21491 for a related
document. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the University of North Carolina Library at Chapel Hill).
