July 27, 1693 Broadside issued by New York Province Governor Benjamin Fletcher which dissolved the General Assembly, with creation of a new assembly to follow. Of note, the basis for this dissolution was a dispute between the then current Assembly and Fletcher over the addition of an amendment to an act creating a new ministry. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of a title originally held by the New York Historical Society Library (c.1) and the Massachusetts Historical Society Library(c.2) and the American Antiquarian Society Library in Worcester, Massachusetts (c.3)).

By His Excellency Benjamin Fletcher, captain general and governour in chief of the province of New-York, province of Pennsilvania, country of New-Castle, and territories and tracts of land depending thereon, in America, and vice-admiral of the same : A proclamation : forasmuch as their most Excellent Majesties, King William and Queen Mary ... have graciously been pleased to impower me from time to time, as I shall judge it necessary, to adjourn, prorogue, and dissolve all general assemblies ... that the General Assembly summoned and called to sit at New-York the twentieth fourth day of October last past, and till now in being, are hereby dissolved ... / given at Fort William Henry the 27th day of July 1693, Ben.
