State Valuation Comm. Report, 1832
Report of the Valuation Committee presented January 3, 1832. The Committee met on November 23, 1831 to consider the Assessors' Report of March 9,
1831. After due deliberation, the Committee set $1,000/jurisdiction as a potential rate of taxation and ran the numbers. The result was 16 pages
showing by county/jurisdictions in 1831 the population, valuation of property, tax generated by rate of 1 1/4 mil and the same for 1821, except then the
rate was 1 1/2 mil. On page 18, the table laid out the numbers for each county in 1831 and 1821. On page 19, those numbers were compared by raw
numbers and per cent of change. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
