Inspectors of the State Prison. Report on employment for discharged inmates, 1830

Senate No. 2 On May 31, 1830, Governor Lincoln forwarded a report from the state prison inspectors. [The page with the Governor's statement shivered
during filming and is very difficult to read.] The inspectors were responding to a Resolve of March 4, 1830 asking them to see if there was a way for
the state to have a sort of halfway house with employment opportunities for newly released prisoners. The only such place identified was a facility
in South Boston for juveniles. The inspectors felt that gathering a group of ex-convicts in one place was asking for trouble and that it would not
