SEE ALSO 52786 Senate No. 48 [There appear to be two copies of this document.] On March 4, 1936, the Taunton Branch Railroad Corporation asked leave to merge with the Boston & Providence Railroad Corporation. The Committee on Railways and Canals reported a bill: An Act in addition to an act to establish the Taunton Branch Railroad Corporation, 1836. Taunton could make a contract with the Boston & Providence to transfer assets and liabilities to the larger line, provided such contract was filed with the Secretary of State within three months. The Joint Committee on Railways and Canals, to whom was committed the petition of the president of the Taunton Branch Rail-road Corporation, for power to unite said corporation with the Boston and Providence Railroad Corporation, have had the same under consideration, and ask leave to report a bill.
