Senate No. 70 In April 1835, the Committee on the Judiciary reported a bill: An Act in addition to an act regulating attachments on mesne process, 1835. When any attached personal property had multiple owners, a part owner who was not being sued could ask for the property to be appraised. After the appraisal, the property could be delivered to that part owner if he put up surety to pay off the claim against the defendant.
