SEE ALSO 52461 House No. 52 On March 4, 1833, a five man committee submitted An Act relating to the support of state paupers, 1833. As on June 1, the state would pay 7c/day for paupers twelve and older and 4c/day for those under twelve. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).

Ordered, that Messrs. Rantoul, of Beverly, Ashmun, of Springfield, Dickenson, of Hadley, Lincoln, of Worcester, and Harris, of E. Bridgwater, be a committee to consider the expediency of reducing the allowance made by the commonwealth to towns for the support of state paupers.
