Senate No. 37 On February 8, 1833, the Committee on the Judiciary was asked to consider further legislation to prevent private banking. The Committee declined to do that. The Committee was asked again and this time, submitted a bill: An Act to prevent private banking, 1833. After April 10th, anyone who circulated bills or checks that were not from a state incorporated bank or a United States bank, would be fined $50 for each offense.
