H.R. No. 48 An Act in addition to the several acts respecting the general powers and duties of manufacturing corporations, 1827. No member of a manufacturing corporation would be personally liable for debts of the corporation unless the suit was brought within one year of the due date for the debt. If a member had to pay the company's debts, he could go to court to force other members to pay their share. Stockholders of a company were not personally liable unless they pledged their stock as security. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
