Senate No. 20 An Act to regulate the weighing of merchandize and other commodities, 1827. From April 1, 1827 forward, all commodities usually sold by 100 weight or 112 pounds avoirdupois were to be sold as decimal 100 or 100 avoirdupois. All contracts involving weights were to be written in this way. Every public weigher was to follow the rule. There were fines for errors.
