SEE ALSO 56499 Forty-fourth Legislature. Senate. No. 18. Amendments proposed by Mr. Sanborn of Kennebec to bill "An Act to enable banks of this state to become banking associations under the laws of the United States." E. Any bank that surrendered its charter could not accept deposits or receive any of its bills after April 1, 1865. F. Such banks should speedily close their affairs. G. If the directors didn't move quickly, the Bank Commissioners could come in and do it for them. H. The amendments did not apply to banks that had already made the change.
