|
|
Forty-second Legislature. House. No. 7. The Joint Select Committee on Aid to Families of Volunteers submitted: An Act in aid of families of volunteers, 1863. The act defined a volunteer and his dependents. Local jurisdictions could raise money to assist the families, but the state would only reimburse three-quarters of the allowed amount if it was satisfied with the documentation, timely filed. A wife or dependent parent was allowed 75c/week and children were allowed 50c/week, but the total allowed was $10/month. All similar acts were repealed.
