Reports of decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States: by Samuel F. Miller, Vol. 1-4, covering 1855-62, Wash., W.H. & O.H. Morrison, 1874-1875. (This series continues the work of Justice Benjamin R. Curtis, whose abbreviated version of the official U.S. Reports series was intended to fill a need for a cheaper source of these important legal documents. Curtis achieved his economies by editing out much interesting, but essentially extraneous, matter such as notes of the arguments of counsel and the much fuller statements of the cases that were habitually included by the earlier reporters. Curtis’ work, various editions of which are offered on this site, condensed the U.S. Reports from 1790-1854, Vols. 2-58 U.S. Miller continued the Curtis work by condensing the U.S. Reports from 1790-1854, Vols. 2-58 U.S., into four volumes. LLMC currently lacks Vol. 4 of this Miller set. A copy is solicited for scanning purposes.)
