A Treatise on the Organization, Jurisdiction and Practice of the Courts of the United States in Suits at Law (5th edition), by Alfred Conkling and
published in 1870 in Albany, New York. The preface indicated that this book was to assist new practitioners in federal courts. The treatise presented
general organization and jurisdictional information in the first part, while subsequent sections covered practice in civil and criminal cases, and
with respect to "anomalous" subjects (such as naturalization). The appendix included various courts' rules, as well as practical forms.
