Curtis, Equity Precedents, 1869 (4th edition)
Equity Precedents; Supplementary to Mr. Justice Story’s Treatise of Equity Pleadings. By George Ticknor Curtis. Fourth Edition published by Little,
Brown and Co. (Boston 1869). xxiv + 596 p. Contents include the Preface; Table of Contents; the main work in 16 chapters; and an Appendix, the Rules of
Practice for the Courts of Equity of the United States. (The Preface states: “The extensive use of Mr. Justice’s Story’s Treatise on Equity
Pleadings, in this country, has seemed to call for the preparation of a collection of Precedents, to be used by the student and practitioner, in connection
with that work. Such a collection, of course, must be drawn from the best English collections of Equity Pleadings, in a great measure. I have, in
general, adapted the English Precedents to the practice in this country, and have appended to them such references to Mr. Justice Story’s Treatise, as will
enable the pleader or the student to resort at once to the principles applicable to the case in hand.”)
