Cite as D.I.L. (Whar.). (This edition differs from the first as follows: Small errors in the first edition are quietly corrected. An appendix has been added that provides: diplomatic papers inadvertently omitted in the 1st ed.; extracts from the Franklin papers relative to the Treaty of Peace, 1782-83; and documents newly released from the State department since the prior edition. Wharton is also the author of A Treatise on Conflict of Laws, and of Commentaries on American Law.
