Tracts Chiefly Relating to the Antiquities and Laws of England, 3rd ed., 1771.
3rd ed., with modified title: Tracts, Chiefly Relating to the Antiquities and Laws of England: 3rd ed., by William Blackstone, 3+iii+4+ 13–353+
lxxx+18p, Oxford, pr. at the Clarendon Press, 1771. (The 1st edition is here identified as being title no. 238 above. Eller could find no bibliographic
references to a "second edition." This 3rd edition omits one tract included in the 1762 edition, A Treatise on the Law of Descents in Fee-Simple, and
adds two not contained in that edition, An Analysis of the Laws of England and Observations on the Oxford Press. The tract on the Oxford Press had been
published previously with the title To the Reverend Doctor Randolf, Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford. As published here it carries an
advertisement stating: "This letter was originally written ... on account of some differences of opinion which then subsisted in the University of Oxford,
with respect to the management of ... the Clarendon Press .... Some parts of the letter, which were penned in the heat of controversy ... are in this
edition totally omitted.")
