Description and Holding Information
Blackstone's Commentaries, 1809, 15ed
(1809), with the last corrections by the author, and with notes and additions by Edward Christian, Vol. 1–4, London, pr. by A. Strahan for T. Cadell
& W. Davies, 1809. (This is the last edition which was revised by Christian. In this Yale Law Library copy, Vol. 1 lacks its half-title, and Vol. 3
lacks pp. xxvii–xxxviv of the appendix. In the 12th through the 15th editions of the Commentaries which Christian revised, he alludes to a planned
supplementary volume to Blackstone. Eller is of the opinion that this anticipated supplementary volume was never published. Certainly it is not to be
confused with a separate volume of Christian’s Notes to Blackstone’s Commentaries which was published in Boston in 1801, see Eller Titles 85 and 86, P/L
11/50 and 12/13 below, or with a pirated Dublin reprint of Christian’s 1797 notes to his 13th edition of the Commentaries, which the pirate publisher
marketed as being suitable to form Vol. 5 of any edition.)
