and W. Davies, 1803. (Since the publication of the 13th Edition, Christian had become Chief Justice of the Isle of Ely and Downing Professor of the
Laws of England in the University of Cambridge. The Yale Law Library’s copy once belonged to John Hooker, who for thirty-six years was reporter for the
Connecticut Supreme Court of Errors.)
