Description and Holding Information
Jacob's New Law-Dictionary, 1782
the tenth edition, now corrected and greatly enlarged by J. Morgan, unpaginated (997 pp.), London, pr. by W. Strahan and W. Woodfall, 1782. (Perhaps
it may not be presuming too far to say, that the work, in its present form, is the best and most extensive of the kind. Although the Editor doth not
presume to think that this work is perfect … he thinks it will, upon a close examination, appear to be by far the best Law-Lexicon, and the most
extensive Repertorium, extant.—Pref., 2n & 3rd page. This was the last edition of Jacob’s. For successors to the Jacob work, see the entries under Tomlins,
listed below, p. 13.)
