( A dictionary intended for the English-speaking lawyer as the authoritative interpreter of the English used in affairs for the British Empire. The preface indicates that the goal is to formulate English judicial interpretations from the earliest times to the end of the 19th Century. Irish and Scottish decisions are cited in the definitions. Tables of cases and statutes are included at the beginning of the volume.)
