The Law and Custom of the Constitution, by Sir William R. Anson. Published in two volumes by the Clarendon Press (Oxford 1892, 1896). Second Edition published in two parts: Part I, The Parliament, includes a preface, index of cases, and chapters on historical outline, the English constitution, the House of Commons and its privileges and procedures, the House of Lords, legislative process, conflict with the Executive, and the High Court of Parliament, and a general index and index of statutes (xviii + 375 p.). Part II, The Crown, includes prefaces to both editions, and chapters on the prerogative of the Crown, the Councils of the Crown, the departments of government, relationship to the dominions, colonies, foreign governments, the armed forces, the churches and the courts, with appendices and forms (xxiv + 517 p.).
