1842-03-30, Commission of E.R. Potter to examine Narragansett affairs (MS)
March 1842 Resolution that Commissioner Elisha R. Potter examine and determine claims against the Narragansett Tribe, and be authorized to sell land
to pay verified claims. Passed on March 30 by the House; March 31 by the Senate, with amendments. Also included on the same page, a report by Samuel
Stanton of a case of smallpox by a Narragansett. He succumbed to the disease; the family was quarantined a cleared of infection. (Digitized from a
