House No. 35 The Committee on the Judiciary reported: An Act concerning guardianship of minors, 1842. When a divorce was granted in another
jurisdiction, but minors involved lived in Massachusetts, the justices of the Supreme Judicial Court could make decrees concerning their care. The children
could not be removed from the state without their consent, unless the court had compelling cause to so order. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
