House No. 33 On February 17, 1842, the Committee on the Judiciary, in response to an order, submitted a brief report and a bill: An Act
concerning the taking of depositions to perpetuate testimony, 1842. The deposition of a person could be taken to perpetuate his testimony, but it could not
be used against him in subsequent proceedings. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
Title:   Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary inquire into the expediency of making any alterations in the law concerning the taking of depositions in perpetuam.
