House No. 23 On February 10, 1842, the Committee on the Judiciary, in response to an order, considered the tenure of judicial officers and sent: Resolve providing for the amendment of the Constitution, 1842. With the proper legislative vote, the amendment would be considered by the next General Court and then go to the state's voters. Judicial officers would serve only until age 70.
