Joint Special Comm. on the Board of Education Report. Report, 1842
Senate No. 72 On February 18, 1842, the Joint Special Committee filed a report. The Committee highlighted two areas needing legislative attention
that had been reported in the Fifth Annual Report of the Board of Education. The Committee included a brief history of the normal schools. Resolves
concerning normal schools and school district libraries, 1842. Resolved, $6,000 per year for three years would be appropriated for the normal
schools. Resolved, $15 from the school fund would be made available to each school district as a matching grant. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
