Senate. Comm. on Railways and Canals. Act to Incorporate the Proprietors of the Mount Hope Canal and Wharf Company, 1842
Senate No. 68 On February 24, 1842, the Committee on Railways and Canals, in response to a petition, reported a bill: An Act to incorporate the
proprietors of the Mount Hope Canal and Wharf Company, 1842. Two men were incorporated as above, subject to Chapter 44 of the Revised Statutes, to
acquire land to build a canal on a defined route between Quincy and Milton. The company could have sixty shares of $100 each. The project had to be
completed in three years. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
Title:   The Committee on Railways and Canals, to whom was committed the petition of Edward Glover and others, praying for leave to construct a canal in the towns of Milton and Quincy, have considered the same, and respectfully report the accompanying bill.
