Senate. Comm. on Railways and Canals. Act to establish the Pittsfield and North Adams Rail-road, 1842
|
|
Senate No. 60 On February 19, 1842, the Committee on Railways and Canals responded to a petition with a bill: An Act to establish the Pittsfield and North Adams Railroad, 1842. Four men were made a corporation as above, subject to Chapters 39 and 44 of the Revised Statutes, to locate and construct a railroad on the defined route. The Corporation's capital stock was not to exceed $500,000 in shares of $100 each. The tracks could unite with the Western Railroad at a negotiated point. If the project was not completed within three years, the act was void. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
