Duggan. Order to the Committee on the Francis Jackson petition, 1842
Senate No. 39 When John Quincy Adams presented Congress with a memorial from the citizens of Massachusetts, he was accused of subornation, perjury,
and high treason. On February 10, 1842, Mr. Duggan asked a committee to draft resolutions expressing the state's outrage at the treatment of Mr.
Adams. Was this yet another abridgement of Constitutional rights by the slave-holding states? (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
held by the Library of Congress).
Title:   Ordered, that the committee to whom was referred the petition of Francis Jackson and others, be instructed to draft resolutions, if they deem expedient, expressive of the sense which this legislature entertains of the insult and indignity offered to Massachusetts ... .
