Senate No. 14 On January 18, 1842, the Committee on Railways and Canals submitted a bill: An Act to authorize the Boston & Lowell Rail-road
Corporation to increase its capital stock, 1842. The Corporation could sell additional capital stock up to $200,000 in shares of $500. Mr. Hooper
submitted an amendment reminding the Corporation of Chapter 44 of the Revised Statutes. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
