House No. 69 An Act providing for the measurement of upper leather, 1841. Two measurers were to be appointed each April in towns where they would
be needed. Equipped with his own tools, the measurer went to the leather to measure and seal the uppers at 1c per side unless the work had been done
and sealed elsewhere in the United States. A person caught doing counterfeit marks was fined. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
