House. Comm. on Roads and Bridges. Act to incorporate the Proprietors of the Weweantitt Bridge, 1841
House No. 51 The Committee on Roads and Bridges reported: An Act to incorporate the proprietors of the Weweantitt Bridge, 1841. Three men and
their associates were incorporated as above, subject to Chapter 44 of the Revised Statutes. They were authorized to build a draw bridge between two
towns in Plymouth County and keep it in good repair. They could collect a toll, for which a long detailed list was included. Funerals and those
reporting for military duty were exempt from toll. After the proprietors had recouped the cost of the bridge, plus 6%, the bridge could revert to the state or
be bought by one of the towns. If the bridge was not built in five years, the act was void. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
held by the Library of Congress).
